If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 24 online or Call 111.

NHS 24 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Using Other Local NHS Services

As well as our practice, there are many other local NHS services you can contact for health advice, information or treatment.

Your Local Pharmacist

Your local pharmacist will be able to give you free health advice at any time – you don’t need an appointment. Many pharmacies operate extended hours on a rota basis.

Accident and Emergency 999

Whatever the day or time, if you or someone else experiences severe chest pain, severe loss of blood or suspected broken bones, go to your nearest accident and emergency department or call 999. Accident and emergency departments are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can assess serious injuries and provide emergency treatment.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Public Holidays

Agreed Public holidays for 2026/27 are as follows:

  • Monday 15 June 2026
  • Friday 18 September 2026
  • Monday 21 September 2026
  • Friday 25 December 2026
  • Monday 28 December 2026
  • Friday 01 January 2027
  • Monday 04 January 2027

If you need urgent medical treatment that cannot wait until the practice re-opens, please call the Out of Hours service - NHS24/Ayrshire Urgent Call Services (AUCS) on 111.

Protected Learning Time

The Practice will close at 1pm on the following dates for PLT:

  • Thursday 20th August 2026
  • Wednesday 18th November 2026

If you require urgent medical treatment that cannot wait until the practice re‑opens, please call 01563 826930.

GP Extended Hours

These are offered Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 08:00 till 08:30. Also on alternate Tuesday evenings from 17:30 till 18:00.

Please note that these appointments must be booked in advance and are for patients who cannot attend the practice during normal consulting times, due to work or travel commitments.

How do I book an appointment?

Contact your GP practice in the usual way to request an appointment. If there is no appointment available at your practice, they may offer you an appointment with the GP Extended Access Service, if this is right for you.

If your practice is closed and you need medical help now, use NHS 24 online or Call 111
